NFL - There's a pack of AFC wild-card hopefuls like the Jaguars, Ravens and Texans, but who will still be smiling come playoff time? Larry Fitzgerald's 705 yards and NFL-high eight receiving TDs have helped the Cards seize control of the NFC West. Both are 4-5 long shots, but can Thursday foes Carolina or Miami still make a playoff run?

NCAA FOOTBALL - Wed. Nov. 18 Buffalo 42 Miami o. 17 and Cent. Mich 35 Ball St. 3. Florida-Alabama promises to be epic. Cincinnati-Pittsburgh might be, too. But neither can match the Pac-10 race. GOLF - Pebble Beach Invitational-Tommy Armour III aims to win this unofficial event on the Monterey Peninsula for third year in a row. A pessimistic Shark-Greg Norman predicts prize money in golf will keep going down due to the recession. Good will Hunter- Hunter Mahan was not spectacular in 2009, but the future still looks bright. We won't see Lorena Ochoa, Natalie Gulbis, Paula Creamer and others much in 2010 due to a reduced schedule. That's big trouble.

NASCAR - Marketing 101-He has the looks. He's articulate. He has three Cup titles and is closing in on a fourth. So why aren't the advertisers beating down Jimmie Johnson's door?

TENNIS - Expect The Unexpected - Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic took turns dominating 2009. So, logically, Andy Murray will win the year-ender, right? Roger Federer had to watch Juan Martin del Potro hoist the winner's trophy at the U.S. Open. Now they'll face each other again in the ATP World Tour finals.
