to set the stage for what should be an exciting season-opening Daytona 500. Michael Waltrip bounded across a crowded room to reach Scott Speed, reaching outto hug his fellow driver. Without Speed’s help, Waltrip would have missed what’s supposed to be the final Daytona 500 of his career.



NBA - All Star Game Sunday. Bryant, Iverson to sit out All-Star game. What a way to head into the All-Star break -- especially for the sizzling Cavaliers. NCAA FOOTBALL - Nebraska quarterback Zac Lee and coach Bo Pelini hope to end the Huskers' Big 12 title drought. Is this the year? The Pac-10 possibly expanding to 12 teams? Such a move would make the conference a superpower and create a devastating aftershock. We doubt Texas would leave the Big 12 for the Big Ten. First, it would literally take an act of the state legislature to move. Second, I hear that Texas is going to start its own network. It already makes approximately $10 million a year in Big 12 revenue. It would make at least $16 million per year in the Big Ten but the school has so many revenue streams at the moment that difference might not matter.



GOLF - Dustin Johnson birdied his last five holes and is atop the leaderboard after an 8-under 64 in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Palmer, Nicklaus, Player set for charity event. Couples, Azinger set for Champions debut.
