NCAA Football - Gators edge Tide in first BCS standings. Connecticut CB Howard stabbed to death. Alabama passes Florida to be AP's No. 1. Meyer concerned about offensive miscues. Texas extends Red River dominance. USC continues mastery of Irish, barely. Georgia Tech running up rankings. Ohio St. offense inept in loss to Purdue. There isn't anything pretty about Ricky Stanzi and Iowa football, but they are 7-0 and could be the best team in the Big Ten.
Texas didn't get to play for the Big 12 title last year. That shouldn't be the case this season as the 'Horns are sitting pretty and on track to play for the BCS crown. Florida is No. 1 in the first BCS standings, but nobody should get too comfortable.
