MLB - World Series - Nice-Lee Done.. OK, it was better than nice. What Cliff Lee did against the Yankees in Game 1 of the World Series was almost legendary. Lee stuns Yanks as Utley's 2 HRs spark Phils. Wow, silence in the Bronx. After losing the World Series opener 6-1, the Yankees will have to count on much less reliable pitchers to rebound.

HORSE RACING - Dance With Gable wins Santa Anita feature. Harness driver Jeff Gregory wins 6,000th race. Precursor wins Aqueduct's Proud Truth Stakes. Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird worked five furlongs in 58.20 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday, which equaled the fastest of 58 recorded works at the distance. Kodiak Kowboy, already a two time Grade 1 winner this year, will attempt to further sweeten his Eclipse Award resume with a victory in the Breeders' Cup Sprint at Santa Anita on Nov. 7. Led by the unbeaten Zenyatta, a total of 166 horses were announced on Wednesday as pre-entries in the 14 races that will make up the 26th Breeders' Cup.
