NCAA FOOTBALL - Ruffin McNeill and Texas Tech emerged from the turmoil of Mike Leach's firing to outlast Michigan State 41-31 at the Alamo Bowl. McCluster-led Ole Miss beats OSU in Cotton Bowl 21-7. Andre Dixon rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown and resilient Connecticut ended a trying season with a 20-7 victory over the Gamecocks in the Papajohns.com Bowl on Saturday. Tejada’s OT kick gives Arkansas 20-17 win over ECU Liberty Bowl. S. Fla. routs NIU in International Bowl. And now, it’s Jimbo Fisher’s turn at FSU.

NBA - Minus 3 starters, Celtics beat Raptors. Anthony-less Nuggets get by Jazz. Roy scores 37 as depleted Blazers win. Grizz rip Suns 128-103 to reach .500. Rose has 30, Bulls win fourth straight. Jackson's 35 lift Bobcats over Heat. LeBron James and the Cavs didn't dominate but still escaped with their seventh straight win by beating the Nets 94-86.

Robinson's 22 and 16 lift UConn by Irish. No. 2 Texas gets by Corpus Christi 76-70. Washington's home win streak ends at 18. No. 11 Spartans cruise past Northwestern. No. 1 Kansas, with Xavier Henry, is among four undefeated teams left.

NHL - 'Hawks spoil Blues coach's debut. Penguins drop fourth straight. Sharks extend run to 8, beat Oilers 4-1. Isles hand Atlanta eighth straight loss.
