NHL - San Jose beat Phoenix 3-2 in a shootout Saturday to keep the Sharks' hopes for the top seed in the Western Conference alive. Vanek helps Sabres end skid vs. Sens. Senators F Kovalev to miss playoffs. Devils roll to clinch Atlantic Division.

NCAA HOCKEY - The NCAA hockey championship trophy is headed back down Commonwealth Avenue. Led by goalie John Muse, Boston College won the national title for the second time in three years, beating Wisconsin 5-0 in the final of the Frozen Four on Saturday night.

MLB - The Yankees' CC Sabathia didn't allow the Rays a hit until the bottom of the eighth inning en route to his first victory of the season. Beckett helps BoSox beat Greinke, Royals. Astros 0-5 for first time since 1983. Heyward, Braves hand Giants first loss. Matsui's hit in 9th lifts Angels by A's. Twins edge ChiSox for fifth straight win. NASCAR - Ryan Newman gambled at Phoenix on the final pit stop and won, which more and more is how races are being decided. One of the first people to greet Ryan Newman in Victory Lane was Tony Stewart. Why, Newman was driving the No. 39 Chevrolet owned by Stewart.

GOLF - Phil Mickelson made eagles at 13 and 14 and trails Lee Westwood by one going into Sunday's final round of the Masters. Tiger Woods was back to his old self – tossing a few profanities – but he's only four back at Augusta. Couples is lurking again at Augusta National. His 4-under 68 on Saturday puts him five strokes behind leader Lee Westwood and four behind Phil Mickelson.

MMA & BOXING - Anderson Silva's antics against Demian Maia put a damper on what should have been a historic night in UFC history. Frank Edgar blocked out everyone who said he was too small to defeat B.J. Penn. Matt Hughes sets the record for career UFC wins in defeating Renzo Gracie. BOXING - Evander Holyfield, 47, knocked out Frans Botha, 41, with 2:05 left in the eighth round on Saturday night to improve to 43-10-2. American Andre Berto retained his WBC welterweight title with a stoppage of Carlos Quintana on Saturday, boosting his chances of a bout against the premier fighters in the weight class.

SOCCER - MLS - Edson Buddle scored both goals in Los Angeles' 2-0 victory at Houston, giving the 3-0 Galaxy early control of the Western Conference. Jesus Padilla scored two goals as Chivas USA handed New York its first loss of the season. Buddle gives Galaxy win over Houston. Kamara scores in KC's 1-0 win over Colorado.
