2 seed. Hawks strengthen hold on No. 3 spot. Spurs push 50-win run to 11 seasons. Roy-less Trail Blazers beat Thunder. Raptors get key win for playoff hopes
Nuggets win before meeting with Suns.



NHL - It's a positive forecast in the playoffs for Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews and for the Zach Parise-led Devils. Playoffs set to open Wednesday night. Capitals enter playoffs as No. 1 seed. Eastern Conference quarterfinals- Sidney Crosby, Martin Brodeur and Alexander Ovechkin all believe they're on the team to beat the Capitals. Western Conference quarterfinals - Anze Kopitar, Ilya Bryzgalov and Matt Duchene bring a new young and fresh look to the postseason with Phoenix Coyotes.



MLB - BULL'S-EYE - Ballparks should represent their fan base, and Target Field hits the mark for the Twins. Twins open Target Field with win. Phillies improve to 6-1 but Rollins hurt. Padres score 10 in 4th, rip Braves 17-2. Molina's 4 RBIs help Giants move to 6-1. Pujols' homer, 4 RBIs lift Cardinals. Camden Yards-low 9,129 sees Rays win. Rolen's 2 HRs, RBI in 10th lift Reds. Duchscherer pitches into 8th as A's win.



NFL - The commissioner must decide if QB Ben Roethlisberger will face sanctions like WR Santonio Holmes now with the JETs. American billionaire Stan Kroenke, the biggest shareholder of Premier League club Arsenal, will try to buy the
remaining 60 percent of the St. Louis Rams.




NCAA FOOTBALL - Boise State, with Kellen Moore, opens with Virginia Tech in one of the 12 best non-conference games of 2010. The Big House has been a House
of Horrors lately. But smiles returned to Michigan this spring. Will 2010 be a Fun House? After years of being a token interview, Charlie Strong is finallya head coach. By resurrecting Louisville, he's about to make a lot of people regret passing on him.

GOLF - Golf needs a big lift and Phil Mickelson comes through, winning his third Masters. For a family that has been through as much as the Mickelsons, this is as sweet as it gets. Masters ratings up, but short of record. Raymond Floyd has called it a career at Augusta National, saying he won't be playing the Masters anymore after 45 appearances.



MMA & BOXING - Frankie Edgar heard all of the reasons why he couldn't beat B.J. Penn for the lightweight title. He paid no heed. Record win-Matt Hughes set
the record for career UFC wins in defeating Renzo Gracie. BOXING-Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley are already jawing ahead of their May 1 encounter.



SOCCER - MLS - Toronto FC has changed personnel, but goalie Stefan Frei wonders when the defense will improve. Vice president Joe Biden's presence at
